Terms

Closed beta terms baseline.

These terms are a working beta baseline and should be reviewed before public launch.

Beta service

LoreBranch is provided as a closed beta. Features may change, break, or be removed. Do not rely on the beta as the only copy of important writing.

Accounts

You are responsible for activity under your account. Accounts may be restricted or suspended to protect the service, authors, readers, or legal compliance.

Your content

You keep ownership of the fiction, comments, suggestions, covers, blurbs, and other content you submit. You grant LoreBranch a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, cache, back up, transmit, reformat, display, and distribute that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.

Processors and infrastructure

LoreBranch may sublicense those operational rights to service providers used to run the platform, including hosting, CDN/cache, database, storage, authentication, email, payments, backup, moderation, and security providers. That includes providers such as Vercel, Neon, Google, Stripe, and any current email or infrastructure providers used for the service.

Promotion and discovery

LoreBranch may use your title, pen name or handle, series metadata, covers, blurbs, tags, thumbnails, short excerpts, and social preview data to list, recommend, preview, search, and promote your work and your presence on LoreBranch. This does not transfer ownership and does not give LoreBranch a separate right to commercially exploit your work outside operating and promoting the service.

Collaborative works

LoreBranch is built around single-canon collaborative editing. If you create, publish, or manage a collaborative series, you represent that you have authority to invite collaborators and make that work available on LoreBranch. Accepted edits, version history, commit messages, timeline links, canon records, and contributor credit choices may remain visible as part of a work even if an account is later anonymised. LoreBranch does not resolve ownership splits or internal disputes between collaborators.

Moderation, takedown, and suspension

LoreBranch may hide, unpublish, remove, restrict access to, or suspend content or accounts where reasonably necessary for moderation, safety, legal compliance, infringement complaints, fraud prevention, service abuse, incident response, or operational integrity. In urgent cases LoreBranch may act without prior notice.

Not allowed

Do not upload illegal content, child sexual abuse material, doxxing, non-consensual intimate imagery, credible threats, spam, payment fraud, or content that violates the content policy.

Your warranties

You promise that you own the content you upload or have all permissions needed to use it on LoreBranch, including permission for collaborative publication, cover art, commissioned materials, excerpts, and any third-party material you include. You also promise that your content and use of the service do not infringe third-party rights or break the law.

Payments

Payments are disabled for closed beta unless explicitly switched on. If enabled, payments use Stripe and are subject to Stripe processing terms.

Privacy

The privacy notice explains what personal data LoreBranch processes, why it is used, how rights requests work, and what may be retained after account deletion.

Retention after deletion

Account deletion or anonymisation does not necessarily remove everything immediately. LoreBranch may retain backups for limited periods, audit trails, moderation and security records, payment and accounting records, and published/version history where needed for collaborative integrity, legal obligations, fraud prevention, or safety reasons.

Liability and indemnity

LoreBranch is provided on an as-is beta basis. To the extent allowed by law, LoreBranch is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profits, or loss caused by beta downtime, bugs, or feature changes. You are responsible for claims, losses, or costs arising from your infringement, illegal content, fraud, misuse of the service, or lack of authority to publish the content you submit.
